Episode 1.05

Maggie’s Apartment

Maggie turned the TV off and sank down on a stool eating away her depression.

Digging into the carton she started to relax before someone knocked on her door. Taking the carton with her to the door she opened it and came face to face with Bethany McKay. Putting the carton down on the table next to the door, she studies the look on Bethany’s face, “May I help you?” Maggie asked.

“Are you Maggie Williams?” Bethany asked, letting herself into Maggie’s apartment.

“Yeah I am, what’s it to you?” Maggie said slamming her door shut and forgetting about the ice cream.

“I’m Mrs. Conner McKay, I know you were out with my husband last night.” Bethany said as she studied the apartment of her competition.

“Is that a problem for you Bethany?” Maggie asked, deciding not to give this woman any power at all.

Bethany looked at her up and down and then laughed, “Conner is my husband, he will always be my husband and nothing you say or do will stop that. You might have been a nice distraction while I was away, however I plan on staying in Pinõn Hallow for quite a while. Trust me sweetie this plan includes Conner and Lysistrata.”

Lysa, doesn’t even know you.” Maggie spoke up.

Bethany rolled her eyes, “Conner never did understand the importance of the name. Listen, just stay away from my husband and child.”

Maggie crossed her arms and stood tall, “You mean the way you did?”

Siobhan’s Apartment

Walking out of the bathroom, Siobhan wrapped her white terry cloth robe around her body and picked a book off the shelf. She had the evening off and she was not going to let anything dealing with work or anyone disturb this for her.

Sinking down onto her couch she started to read the book, allowing herself to get lost in it when her phone rang. She started to reach for it but stopped herself, “the machine can get it.” She said to her walls.

“Siobhan, listen I thought I would let you know that Chad Davis’ story pans out. Everyone at the theater remembers seeing him last night at Charlie’s Angels. We know you have the night off but I know you would want to know about this before the morning. I’ll see you then. Bye!” Spoke the voice of her commanding officer.

“Great, more work a head of me.” She said flipping the pages.

After a while of being lost in the book she heard yelling in the hall and went to see what it was.

Hallow Hills

Pam’s heart was racing as she rang the bell at Hallow Hills. Her hands were intertwined, as her fingers danced together from her nervousness. She had heard stories about Adel Davis, and she was starting to realize she was defiantly not ready to come face to face with her. The thing was, she really wanted to see Kip.

Their date the night before had been amazing, nothing had ever been so special to her as her dreams started to come true.

Adel was walking down the stairs looking at several pictures of ball gowns when she heard the door bell. Knowing the staff would take ages to answer she got the door herself. She studied the young woman looking at her, “May I help you?” she asked as it dawned on her that this was the young woman from the Java Jet.

“Hi Mrs. Davis, I’m Pam Mitchell, is Kip home this evening?” she asked trying to stay relaxed while face to face with the tornado of Pinõn Hallow.

“Actually, I believe that he went out this evening to the country club. I’ll let him know you came by.”

“Thanks.” Pam said before turning to leave. Just as she took her first step away she heard the door slam shut.

Standing at the top of the stairs Kip had been watching his mother and Pam. Shaking his head in disgust he left and went to his room. As soon as he made sure the door was securely locked and that his mother couldn’t get in, he opened the top drawer of his dresser and took out Ziploc bag full of pictures. Most of the women had dark hair a few were blondes. He laughed to himself before he took out another, and smaller Ziploc bag filled with white pills.

He took the smaller bag and held it up to the light, examining it carefully. “Looks like I won’t be needing you with Pam. It appears she’s head over heels for me. But don’t worry I’ll keep you close to me.” He said before taking out one of the pills and putting it in the pocket of his shirt.

Pinõn Peaks Hallway

“Just stay the hell away from me!” Maggie yelled as she tossed Bethany into the hallway.

Bethany looked at Maggie, her eyes blazing with anger. “Well you should just stay the hell away from my husband. Conner is mine and nothing is going to end out marriage.”

“If Conner wants to see me he’s going to see me, got it Bethany?” the tone spewing from Maggie was unexpected from her normally sweet demeanor. “Just because a piece of paper says that the two of you are married, doesn’t mean that’s what your heart says.”

“Just stay the hell away from my husband you skanky bitch!” Bethany declared as doors to other apartments began to open, including that of Siobhan’s.

Siobhan came out, as she tightened her robe around her, she looked at Maggie and then Bethany, “What the hell is wrong with you two?” she asked as she got between them before they could physically attack each other.

Both women started talking at once, “Shut up!” Siobhan yelled before dragging them both into her apartment, and sitting them both down on the couch. “Maggie you go first.”

Maggie shifted uncomfortably, “I was just home alone ya know when Bethany comes over to tell me to stay away from Conner. It’s not my fault he decided to move on. So I kinda got mad at her for telling me what to do.”

“And Bethany?” Siobhan asked.

“I want her to leave me and Conner alone while we work on the relationship.” Bethany started, “I mean how can we work on it, if this home wrecking hussy is trying to steal him away?”

Siobhan looked at Bethany, “Does Conner want to work on the marriage?”

Bethany shifted uncomfortably, “We haven’t talked about it. He won’t speak to me about anything besides Lysistrata.”

Siobhan rolled her eyes, “The two of you need to stay away before you kill each other. This is Conner’s choice right now, neither of you can make this for him. Let him decide, got it?”

“Yes.” The two said in unison.

“Now get out, this is suppose to be my night off.”

Pam’s Apartment

Sitting on her futon couch she turned on the television and watched the local news. “Just another evening alone Pam. I guess we were wrong about Kip.” She said to herself just before someone knocked on the door.

Getting up she went and opened the door, coming face to face with a bouquet of roses, “Good Evening Pam.” Said Kip, “I hope you’ll forgive me for my mother’s lies. She has it in her head she can pick the best person for me. However she has no idea how amazing you are.”

“Kip!” She exclaimed before pulling him into the apartment.

“For you my lady.” He said before pulling her closer to him and kissing her.

Pam melted in his arms, feeling the need to keep her lips against his.

Country Club Bar

Chad sat down at the wood bar, staring at the matchbook in his hand. He was starting to wonder if he should’ve returned to town. Nothing was going well, It was a complete and total hell here.

“What can I get for you?” asked the bartender.

“Gin.” He said as tossed the matchbook on the bar.

“A woman?” asked the bartender as he placed the drink in front of Chad.

“Yeah, isn’t it always?” Chad asked before taking his drink and moving to a table.

Sitting alone now he slowly drinks the alcohol, when a young woman comes up to him, “Chad? Is that you?” She asks as she sits down across from him.

He looks up and rolls his eyes, “Bethany, what do you want?”

“Just to talk.” She said as she leaned forward and placed her hand over his, “I know you loved my brother, I know you were his husband.”

“I’m not Gay Bethany.” He said as he looked up at her, he studied her for a moment before he leaned over and kissed her hard on the lips.
