“Just to talk.” She said as she leaned forward and placed her hand over his, “I know
you loved my brother, I know you were his husband.”
“I’m not
Gay Bethany.” He said as he looked up at her, he studied her for a moment
before he leaned over and kissed her hard on the lips.

“Its so amazing here.” She said softly as her eyes studies
the lights from the sky.
“Yeah, its my favorite thing to do at night. The stars have so much
meaning, so much depth, and so much history. I mean think of all the people who
fell in love under them, and got married, people who met their soul mates.” Kip
said before turning to look at Pam. He smiled and then stood up, “Want some ice
cream?”
Pam looked
up at him and smiled, “Yeah that would be really sweet.”
“Great,
I’ll be back in a few minutes.” He said before kissing her cheek and leaving
her to gaze at the stars.
Conner’s
Apartment
“Lysa!”
Conner yelled for what his throat felt was the millionth time this evening as
he chased his daughter around the living room.
“Daddy! I
don’t want to go to bed.” She squealed as she ran around the couch and then
towards her bedroom.
“Lysa!” he
yelled again before he grabbed her and picked her up.
The little
girl giggled and looked at her father, “I’m not tired.”
“Well its bedtime anyways Princess.” He told her as he carried her into
her room and placed her in the bed of pink sheets.
Lysa looked
sad as she was tucked in. “Night Daddy.” She said before a yawn over took her
and she started to fall asleep.
“Night princess.” He said as he turned off the room light and clicked the dragonfly night
light on.
As he
closed the door behind him he heard a knocking at the front door. It wasn’t too
loud and defiantly couldn’t be heard in Lysa’s room.
“Just a minute!” He called out as he moved through the hallway and living room. When he
opened his door he saw Maggie, a sadness filling her eyes.
“Can we
talk Conner?”
The Park
Pam had
only been alone for a few minutes when someone grabbed her from behind and
covered her mouth with their hand before pulling her into the bushes of the
park.
Fear spread
its way throughout Pam’s body as she tried to fight off her attacker, she tried
to speak but he kept her mouth covered. She couldn’t see him in the shadows of
the bushes, that didn’t stop her though from feeling him force her into his
sick, needs of power. She tried to scream for him to stop, but it was muffled
against his hand as her head hit the ground and she went unconscious.
Conner’s
Apartment
“Yeah of
course we can talk Mags, what’s going on?” He asked
as he opened the door more for her to walk in.
“
She paused
letting it sink in for Conner as sadness started to grow on his face, “Mags, so what if
Maggie
looked up at him, her eyes glazed over with tears, “I think you should give her
a chance to prove she at least wants to be a mother to Lysa.”
“She left
us Mags, I don’t think she really has a say.” Conner
said boldly.
“You owe it
to Lysa.” Maggie said as she turned away from Conner so he couldn’t see her
expression, “You owe it to yourself as well.”
“But what about us Maggie?” Conner asked her, feeling his heart pounding, trying to
escape his body.
“We had a
date Conner, we’re friends that’s how it will stay.”
She said as she twisted her fingers together.
Conner
turned her to face him, “I don’t want to be just your friend Mags.” He said before he pulled her closer to him and
kissed her.
She laid back on her bed and looked at
“Well
personally I wanted to.” He said sitting up and keeping the lower half of his
body covered with the sheet.
“I didn’t
mean that I didn’t want to, I just mean what brought it on. We were talking
about you being married to my brother in that damn cult.” Her tone was bitter
and acidic.
“Yeah he
mentioned something about that.” He looked over at her, “This is going to stay
just between us right?”
“Oh
definitely, I plan on getting back with Conner so he can never know about us
and about this.” She said.
“Good.” He
said as he leaned over and started to gather his clothing.
The Park
Kip comes
back with two ice cream cones but can’t find Pam. “Pam?” he calls out as he
starts to look around and then he sees a pair of feet coming out from the
bushes. He drops the ice cream and runs over there to find Pam, unconscious and
bruised. He climbs out from behind the bushes and takes out his cell phone
dialing 9-1-1. After frantically trying to tell them where he is in the park he
hangs up, stuck alone waiting.
The
delivery boy was walking towards where Kip had come from when he saw Kip
looking panicked. “Kip, what’s wrong?” he asked when the sound of sirens in the
distance started growing louder.
“Pam’s
unconscious, it looks like someone attacked her.” He said as his eyes searched
for the paramedics.
“Unconscious?”
was all the delivery boy could say as two paramedics came rushing towards them.
“Where’s
the girl?” one of them asked.
“In the
bushes, I was afraid to move her.” Kip said as they rushed off behind him.
Conner’s
Apartment
Maggie felt
herself sinking into the kiss before she snapped herself out of it and pulled
away from him. “We can’t do this Conner. Its not fair
to Lysa or yourself.” She said before she walked out the door and possibly out
of Conner’s life.

Hallow Hospital
Kip and the
delivery boy were pacing the waiting room floor as they waited for news on Pam.
A nurse came out and over to them, “Miss Mitchell is awake now, during the
examination however the doctor discovered bruising below the waist and they’re
doing a rape kit now.”
“Rape kit?”
Kip said in disbelief.
“Yeah, the
doctor thinks it’s a possibility.”
Kip shook
his head, “I never should’ve left her alone.”
