Episode 2.10

Dan and Abby’s Apartment

Abby unlocked the front door of her apartment as she flipped through her day planner. As she closed the door she looked up and saw Dan laying on the couch with a pile of keystone cans surrounding him.

“Dan, what the hell?” Abby asked as she put her bag and planner down.

Dan looked up, and his body swayed, “Love hurts.”

“Yes, but getting drunk is not the answer.” She began picking up the empty cans and then stopped. “You know what, I’ll leave this for you to do. You can’t just mope around forever Dan. Life is all around you.”

“Ciel said she would marry me Abs! Then she left with that Arnold guy.” Dan retorted.

Abby nodded, “Still hon that’s no reason to just waste away in the living room. Seriously, she obviously wasn’t worth it. Is this really how you want to live, in the darkness, in the bleak lonely world?”

Dan stood up and pointed at his sister, “Yes.” He slurred, “NO more love for me. I’m through.” He then went into the bathroom and Abby could hear him throwing up.

Abby rolled her eyes, “That bitch better stay away from my brother or I’ll hurt her.” She said to herself before going into the kitchen.

Hallow Hills—Pool House

Chad rubbed his head as he looked up the list of applicant’s on the Pinõn Hallow Nanny Net website. None of these women were right, they were all too old, and none of them would be able to handle a baby. He leaned back on the couch and closed his eyes; this was going to be hell. He knew Bethany could have only a few days left on earth, if Trista was right.

He leaned forward again and clicked the next button and saw a new application for a 21-year-old Nanny. He filled out the interview request form and clicked send, hoping he had just found the woman who would help raise his child.

Siobhan’s Apartment

Siobhan clutched the bowl of popcorn as she watched Love and Honor; she was so entranced with the show. She was just glad Kyle wasn’t here to ruin it this time as Siobhan was routing for Trista to win this hansom man named Brock Jensen. Of all people her baby brother’s boss.

Just as a commercial came on someone began knocking on her door. “For the love of God, Kyle just get over it already, you pushed Trista to this!” she yelled as she got up to answer the door.

“Um, its not Kyle.” Becker said when the door opened and his brown eyes caught Siobhan’s.

“I thought it would be him complaining about that new reality TV show. What are you doing here?” She asked chewing on her lower lip.

“Well, I’m here to tell you one thing and one thing only Siobhan.” He walked into the apartment and closed the door.

“What’s that Shamus.” She asked, with a twinkle in her eye.

Becker cupped her face in his hands and smiled, “You probably know this in your heart already Siobhan, but I have to tell you. I have to tell you now before I lose the courage and never say it.”

“Say what Becker?” she asked, as her stomach filled with butterflies and she felt that the psychic from when she was a little girl was finally right.

His smile grew larger as he looked in her eyes intently, “I love you Siobhan Lane of Pinõn Hallow, Colorado. I have spent my entire life searching for someone like you and I don’t want to take a chance on losing you. What do you have to say to that?”

Siobhan broke their gaze for a moment and looked down at her hands, smiling “I have only one thing to say to you Shamus Becker.”

“What?” he asked, panic sweeping his voice.

“I love you to.” She said before reaching up and kissing him slowly, teasingly.

When it’s love you give
I’ll be a man of good faith
then in love you live.
I’ll make a stand. I won’t break
I’ll be the rock you can build on,
be there when you’re old,
to have and to hold.

Becker pulled her closer, his hands roaming up her back and into her dark chestnut hair.

When there’s love inside
I swear I’ll always be strong
then there’s a reason why.
I’ll prove to you we belong
I’ll be the wall that protects you
from the wind and the rain,
from the hurt and pain.

Siobhan ran her hands down his chest and began to unbutton his shirt as they began to move towards the couch.

Let’s make it all for one and all for love.
Let the one you hold be the one you want,
The one you need,
Cause when it’s all for one it’s one for all.
When there’s someone that should know
Then just let your feelings show
And make it all for one and all for love.

Becker removed her shirt and then tossed his aside, before kissing her again, and then began to kiss and slightly bite her neck.

When it’s love you make
I’ll be the fire in your night.
When it’s love you take.
I will defend, I will fight
I’ll be there when you need me.
When honor’s at stake,
This vow I will make

Siobhan arched her body and neck to give him better access as her feet knocked over the bowl of popcorn from earlier.

That it’s all for one and all for love.
Let the one you hold be the one you want,
The one you need.
Cause when it’s all for one it’s one for all.
When there’s someone that should know
Then just let your feelings show
And make it all for one and all for love.

Becker’s mouth moves down to her chest and then to her stomach, where his hands rest on her hips.

Don’t lay out love to rest
Cause we can stand up to the test.
We got everything, that and more
Then we had planned,
More than the rivers that run the land.
We’ve got it all, in our hands.

Siobhan gasped and raked her hands in his dark hair as he began to unbutton her jeans.

Now it’s all for one and all for love.
Let the one you hold be the one you want
The one you need,
Cause when it’s all for one it’s one for all.
When there’s someone that should know
then just let your feelings show.
When there’s someone that you want,
when there’s someone that you need
Let’s make it all, all for one and all for love.

Becker pushed down Siobhan’s jeans just before she pulled his mouth back to hers in another kiss.

Love and Honor Set

Wink smiled into the camera when they came back from commercial, “Welcome back to Love and Honor, now it’s time for Brock to ask Joan a few questions.”

Joan looked into the camera nervously as Brock cleared his throat, and then released a huge smile onto the world. “Joan, if I were caught watching a soap opera, what would you do?”

Joan’s eyes narrowed as she turned to look at her ex-fiancé, “I would ask you who Ryan Lavery is with now, Greenlee or Kendall.”

Brock looked down at the cards again, “What is the worst way to break up with someone?”

Joan shot him a warning glance before speaking; “I would have to say leaving them on a hot rainy night in the middle of summer with absolutely no warning that it was going to happen.”

“If you could have dinner with anyone living or dead who would it be?” Brock looked up from the cards and smiled, knowing he knew exactly what she would say.

“Well,” she began as she nervously played with her fingers, “I would have to say Coco Chanle, the designer.”

“Thank you Joan.” Came Wink’s booming voice from the podium. “If Trista could now join us for her questions.”

Trista walked onto the stage, and sat in the seat that Joan had quickly vacated.

“This is painless, I swear.” Brock said with a smile just as his eyes caught hers for a moment, “Alright then, if you were to walk in and I was watching a soap opera what would you say?”

“Well, I guess it would depend on what you were watching. I mean it all depends, some are just cheesy and others pretty decent. As long as it was something good like All My Children, I’d probably say nothing and let you enjoy it.”

Brock nodded, loving the answer. “What’s the worst way to break up with someone?”

“I think the worst is when you really don’t say goodbye, if you can’t say goodbye what was really there?” she replied before glancing at the camera, as if looking at Kyle.

“Okay, final question, if you could have dinner with anyone living or dead who would it be?”

“I would say, my high school boyfriend Bradley, who was killed by a drunk driver in college.”

Kyle’s Apartment

Kyle took a swig from the vodka bottle and glared at the television, “Yes Trista, fall all over Brock Jensen!” he yelled at the screen before glaring at his telephone, no messages. Damn did he feel alone? He picked up the remote and turned it off just as Brock was asking the last question.

He put the bottle down and stumbled to the phone and picked it up, “1, 4, 2, 1, 5, 5, 5, 9, 5, 4, 3” he said as he dialed the lost number, “come on ape, pickup.” He said in a drunken whisper.

“Hi its April, I’m not here so please leave a message.” Came the familiar voice of another ex-girlfriend.

“April—its Kyle, I’m so, so, I’m so sorry. Ya know, I just make mistakes right? They go on, and on, I did it with you. Now,” he was silent for a long moment, “I did it with Trista, now she’s on some stupid reality TV show looking for love. If I could take it back, and not have ruined things with you I would. You taught me to love and I took it for granted.” Kyle then hung up the phone and went into the bedroom and passed out.

Hallow Hills—Main House

Adel came down the stairs in her ballroom and greeted the hundred or so guests she had in her ballroom. All were from the upper crust of Colorado Society. She smiled, thinking of how much money she had raised for the hospital with the cover charge. A truly brilliant idea indeed, then having a closed bar even better since it appeared most everyone was well on their way to being drunk. She spotted Doug over by the mantle speaking with Chad and drinking a Martini.

“Doug.” She said kissing his cheek before looking at her son, “Where’s Bethany?”

“Bathroom again, she could go into labor at anytime.” Chad said as he took a long sip of his club soda.

Adel took a deep breath, “And we’ll be grandparents Doug. How do you feel about that?”

“Swell.” Doug said slurring slightly.

Adel looked at her husband and was about to tell him not more when someone tapped her shoulder. She turned around and saw her sister standing there with her arms crossed over her chest, “No Adel, I’ll be a grandparent. I’m Chad’s real mother.”

Chad groaned and was about to say something when Adel dragged her outside, “Carla LEAVE, this is not the time or the place to discuss this.”

“When is the time huh? When your dead?” Carla asked.

Adel smiled, “Sounds good to me.”

“Fine that can be arranged.” Carla said as she began to choke Adel.

Adel wrapped her hands around Carla’s neck in return and began to choke her back and the two bobbed along the back patio in the moonlight causing a stir from the party inside. Carla removed her hands from Adel’s neck and began to pull on her hair as Adel began to pinch Carla’s upper arms as the moved closer to the pool. Before either woman knew it they had fallen in and were still trying to kill each other.

“Shit!” Chad yelled and grabbed his father and the two jumped into the pool. Chad swam towards Carla and Doug swam towards Adel.

Once they pulled the women out Chad looked at Carla, “Just leave town okay? We told you months ago you’re not our mother. You might have given birth to us, but SHE is our Mother.” He said pointing to Adel who clung to Doug. “You abandoned me and Kip, its far too late for you to claim you’re maternal rights, so get out of Pinõn Hallow and leave this family alone, and do not go anywhere near Kip or I’ll come after you.”

Carla took a long deep breath before speaking, “Fine if that’s how you want it Chad, good bye.” She said before storming off across the lawn.

Bethany came out, her hands on her back as she looked really uncomfortable, “Um Chad, honey.”

“What?” he asked a bit annoyed and then felt like an ass when he saw it was Bethany.

“Sorry, honey are you okay?”

She shook her head, “I’m in labor Chad.”

Scarlet Daisy Bar—Nashville

Kevin lifted his shot glass up in the air and looked up towards the heavens, “To Eddie.” He said memorably.

Jade nodded, “To Eddie.” She said before they each took a shot of whiskey down. Jade slammed the glass back onto the bar and shook her head, causing her long black hair to shake.

Kevin laughed, “That is such a sight.”

“You know I can drink, just not whiskey.” She said as the bartender placed the rum and diet coke down next to her, “Thanks.” Kevin looked at her funny, “No carbs. I’m trying to do that Atkins thing, don’t think I’ll last.”

“You have no reason to lose weight you’re a beautiful woman.” Kevin told her as he took a sip of his Budweiser.

“Yet you’re married to Maggie.” Jade said sorrowfully.

“I met Maggie when I was away from you, who knows if I had stayed here what would’ve happened. But after Eddie died, just outside this bar, I had to leave. You understand right?” he asked, as he realized this was really the first time they had ever discussed this before.

Jade nodded, “I know, I just wish you had told me you got married, and she was pregnant.” She took a slow sip from her drink and looked down at the bar.

“Maggie got pregnant after we got married, she was a virgin when we married.” Kevin told her, and a flash of guilt struck through her body.

“Really? Kevin, I am sorry she lost the baby, I should’ve noticed how weak she was when we spoke that day.”

“There was nothing you could do, her doctors said it would happen no matter what. It turns out her mother had several miscarriages before having Maggie and her sister Cassie.”

Jade sat there silently for a moment as she quickly sucked down her drink and then ordered another one, as did Kevin. Tonight she was going to get drunk and so was he, she had a plan now, that would hopefully finally end him and Maggie and she could get the man she had before he left Nashville.

Kevin’s Apartment

Kevin had trouble putting the key in the lock as he dropped to his knees trying to open the door. Jade was giggling as he finally got it and the two went inside. “Alright Lane, you need to go to bed.”

“Where are you going to sleep?” he asked her as they traveled up the stairs slowly, clinging to each other.

“Couch.” She informed him, though she knew deep inside her it was a lie.

“Good, cause I love my wife, I fought for her Ya know. I punched that Conner McKay. It was good.” He said as he opened he bedroom door and crawled onto the bed. He took Jade’s hand and pulled her down next to him. “You’re a good girl Jade, a really good girl.”

Jade blushed, “Thanks Kev.” She said before she felt his lips on hers as he pulled her closer and began to remove her clothes. Jade smiled in the kiss, this was better then what she had planned.
