Episode 2.11

Kevin’s Apartment

Maggie paid the taxi driver and then went into the brick building she had called home since January. She pulled the shoulder strap of her carryon and started to climb the stairs to her apartment. She took out her keys to unlock the front and found the door was already unlocked. She opened it and looked around, nothing looked out of place. “Kevin? Are you home honey?” she called out as she dropped her bags at the door before she went upstairs to the bedroom.

The door was slightly open and she could see that Kevin was in bed, as the baby blue bed sheets covered his legs. Maggie smiled and got an idea; she began to unbutton her top and pushed the door open wider when she saw the long black hair splayed out on her husband’s naked chest. She dropped her hands to her sides and slowly moved forward, to her it seemed as if everything was in slow motion, even the sounds from outside as she came to realize that Jade Spencer was in bed with her husband, naked.

Maggie moved back and found herself leaning against the dresser, thinking what was the best way to let them know she found them this way. She saw the ceramic vase on the dresser and then stared at a spot above the headboard. She picked up the vase and took a long, calculated breath before throwing towards her target. It made a loud crashing sound and Kevin and Jade both sat up, looking dazed and extremely confused.

“What the fuck is going on?” Kevin asked, looking around at the blurry world around him.

“I don’t know Kevin, how about you tell me? Or better yet you tell me what the hell Jade Spencer is doing with you in OUR bed.” Maggie crossed her arms and stared at both of them.

Kevin was about to get out of bed when he realized he was naked, “Maggie, I don’t know what happened. After we helped Brock at his little reality fest we went and had a couple of drinks right, then I don’t know.”

“Maggie, this really isn’t as bad as it looks.” Jade said clutching the sheet to her body.

Maggie shook her head, “Jade, go to hell. I know what you are, and you know what, you win. Have Kevin, I don’t give a damn.”

Kevin’s mouth was gaped open when he heard Maggie say that, “Maggie, what the hell happened?”

Maggie was about to leave when she turned back to her husband, “I realized that if you and I were really meant to be together Kevin, I wouldn’t have had to go to Durango, hell I never would’ve slept with Conner McKay when I first got back from Las Vegas after we got married.”

“You slept with Conner?”

Maggie nodded, “Yes, and no the baby wasn’t his. It was yours, I had a DNA test done.” She then looked at Jade, “I guess you pushed me down the stairs for no reason at all you little whore.”

Kevin watched Maggie leave before looking over at Jade, “You did push her, get out. I never want to see you again. Just get dressed and then get the hell out of my life.” He said to her before going into the bathroom.

Memorial Hospital

“Alright Bethany, you’re doing fine.” The doctor told her as he checked on her contractions and to see how far dilated she was, “Just another centimeter and you’ll be ready to push.”

Bethany moaned as another contraction took over and she squeezed Chad’s hand as he dropped to his knees and didn’t speak. Once it passed he looked up at his wife, “Only a little bit longer before you can push okay, then we’ll have our baby boy or girl.”

Bethany sighed, “Its not that bad, it took a lot longer before Lysa was born.” She reminded herself. “Does Conner know I’m in labor?”

“Yeah, Conner, Lysa, and my parents are outside waiting for news.” He told her as he wiped her forehead, “don’t worry sweetie, everything will be alright. I promise.”

Love and Honor Set

Wink walked around the kitchen as the remaining girls worked on making their favorite deserts for Brock. He looked around to see who appeared to be making something very different and found Ophelia, “Ophelia, tell me dear what are you making for Brock?”

Ophelia looked up and smiled, “Well Wink, I’m making my famous fruit salad. I have fresh summer fruits like blueberries, strawberries, and of course my secret ingredient.”

“Would you care to share that with the American Audience?”

“Sure.” She said as she picked up a box of instant pudding mix, “Vanilla pudding, it gives it a sweet, yet not to sweet creamy bond, rather then just plain fruit salad. Plus once this is all mixed together I’ll pour it into this.” She then picked up a graham cracker pie crust.

“Amazing!” Wink declared, “I’m sure Brock will love it.”

Wink then left Ophelia and went over to Trista, “Well Trista, what are you cooking up today?”

“Well Wink, I’m making million dollar shortbread, my specialty. It’s just your basic short bread, topped with a layer of caramel and then chocolate.” She informed him as she poured the chocolate over the cooling caramel.

“Wonderful, good luck Trista.” Wink said before moving onto the next girl.

Kyle’s Apartment

Kyle turned off the TV, “Yeah good luck Trista. Go marry that record executive. Obviously you didn’t give a damn about how I felt.” He said really to himself as he sat alone in his apartment feeling like the biggest idiot in the world, and trying to remember if he called the right phone number the night before. Something in his gut told him, he didn’t.

He stood up and looked around his apartment, he needed to get out of there for a while so he grabbed his keys and left to take a walk in the warm summer air.

Memorial Hospital

Chad came out of the delivery room and found his parents, Conner, and Lysa gathered watching a reality television show in the waiting room. “Hey Guys.” He said and they all immediately turned to him with questioning eyes. “I’m a Dad!”

“Boy or Girl?” Adel asked with a great anticipation of becoming a grandmother.

“Yeah, a brother or a sister?” Lysa asked.

Chad rubbed his neck, “Actually, twins. A boy and a girl.”

“Twins?” All four asked, with wide eyes and complete shock.

“Yup, a baby boy and then a baby girl. Apparently she was hiding when we did a sonogram that’s why she never popped up. And Bethany’s fine, the doctor thinks she’ll recover.” He said happily.

“That’s great Chad, have you guys picked names yet?” Conner asked as he held Lysa on his lap.

Chad shook his head, “Not yet, Bethany said she had to spend a little bit of time with them first to know.”

Conner chuckled, “She did the same thing with Lysa.”

PHPD

Siobhan was leaning back in her desk chair watching the latest installment of Love and Honor when the door opened to the squad room. “And now our final key.” Wink said to the girls and the audience.

“Trista will you accept this key?” Brock’s voice asked just as Kyle reached Siobhan’s desk.

“Why do you watch this Siobhan?” he asked as he sat down in the chair by her desk.

Siobhan looked up, “To distract me from the drudgery of the real world surrounding me and all the awful crimes I’ve had to work on.”

“Yeah you look so busy.” He said pointing out her relaxed state.

It’s still early in the summer be grateful. The less crime I have to deal with, the less criminals you have to deal with.” She said leaning forward, “so what brings you here tonight. Wait let me guess you got bored watching TV by yourself and came down here, am I right?”

“I got sick of watching Trista make a fool of herself on National television.” He retorted.

Siobhan laughed, “You don’t get it do you? The girl is head over heels in love with you. This is just to get your attention. You need to hope to God she doesn’t get a key in the next episode, otherwise you’re going to lose her, and it’ll be big time.”

“And if she does get a key, then what? What if she actually gets the ring at the end of this? What do I do? Try and find someone else? No thanks.” His defeated tone annoyed the hell out of Siobhan, when she was still reeling over her and Becker from the night before.

“No, if she gets another key, go to Nashville and stop her from saying yes to him. Trust me Kyle, when you find love you can’t give it up. It’s the best high in the world. Especially when you first have the guts to say it, nothing beats it at all.” She said as she recalled declaring her feelings to Becker last night.

“Okay what happened last night cause now you’re all like sentimental and well its kinda freaking me out.” He told her, “Did you and Becker kiss again?”

Siobhan looked down at the desk, “It’s a good thing no ones around, besides it was more then kissing. He told me he loves me.”

“Finally!” Kyle stated as he leaned back in his chair, “So where in Nashville do you think Love and Honor is taped?”

“Let me call my brother and find out.” She said as she picked up the phone.

Airport Terminal—Nashville

Maggie stood at the payphone and flipped through her address book looking for a number, “finally.” She said to herself when she found it. She tossed in several quarters and then dialed. “Hey you’ve reached Dr. Campbell, I’m not able to take your call right now but if you leave a message I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”

Maggie smiled when she heard the familiar voice of Luke Campbell, her boyfriend Freshmen year of college. “Hey Luke its Maggie Williams, up I could really use Fred right now. I’m about to get on a flight back to Pinõn Hallow, I’ll be at the hallow hotel. It’s been a day, just caught my husband in bed with another woman. Um I hope I hear from you. Bye.” She said before hanging up the phone and grabbing her address book and ticket.

PHPD

“Kevin, it’s Siobhan do you know where Love and Honor is taped?” she asked into the speaker phone.

“Actually no, Wink Montana has it under top secret kind of thing, drove us around for an hour and a half before making us put on blind folds so we wouldn’t see what the building is like. Not that it matters.” He voice let Siobhan know the pain he was feeling.

“What’s going on little bro?” she asked.

“Maggie left me, I got drunk last night and I think I slept with my ex-girlfriend Jade. Well Maggie came back from Durango this morning and found us.” He said.

Siobhan and Kyle both stared at the phone, “Really, Kevin how stupid was that?”

“Apparently, Conner and Maggie slept together right after we got married. So she left, saying it wasn’t meant to be. And since you’re hearing this from me, she hasn’t called you.”

Siobhan shot Kyle a look to be quiet, “She probably went back to Durango, you just better hope Larry doesn’t come down there and kill you.”

“Ha Ha, not funny Siobhan. Listen, I have to go I still have work to do, even if Brock’s off trying to find love. I think it’ll come down to Joan and Trista, after that who knows.” Kevin added and hung up before he could hear anything else.

“Stupid Brock Jensen.” Kyle said, “and sorry to hear your brother’s marriage is over.”

Siobhan turned off the speaker phone, “its alright, they were never really meant to be together forever. But this was the only way either of them would learn.”

Memorial Hospital

Chad entered Bethany’s room and saw she had both babies in her arms. “So honey, have any names come to you yet?”

Bethany nodded with pride, “Yeah, for our son, I was thinking Del after your mother.”

Chad chuckled, “She’s going to love that, and what about our little girl?” he asked taking his daughter in his arms.

“Fallon, it means of a ruling family. I think it’ll fit, and when she’s older keep her on her toes around your mother.” Bethany said as she watched her husband hold their daughter. “Thank you Chad.”

“For what?” he asked, really having no clue what she was taking about.

“For loving me, for loving Lysa, and for helping me create this two wonders.” She said trying not to cry.

“Hey, the Doctor said you’ll be fine and not to worry. Everything is going to be okay.” He told her as he sat down in the chair across from the bed, “We have a whole lifetime together, don’t worry.”
