Episode 2.12

Hallow Hotel

Maggie inserted her key into the door of the motel room. She got a chill up her spin thinking about how almost a year ago someone was killed a few doors down. She groped the wall for the switch and turned on the awful yellow light.

She tossed her suitcase on the bed and went to the nightstand and picked up the phone, dialing her father’s number. When the machine picked up she sighed, “Hey Daddy, its Maggie. I’m um in Pinõn Hallow, staying at the Hallow Hotel, room 6. When I got back to Nashville, I found Kevin in bed with someone else so I left him. I’m going to look for a new job here, and a new apartment. Until then you can reach me at 719-555-6020.” She hung up and flopped back on the bed, trying to decide if she should call Conner or not.

After what felt like hours of staring up at the acoustic tile ceiling Maggie sat up and dialed the phone again, “Kevin, its Me. I’m back in Pinõn Hallow.” She paused as her husband spoke, “No, I’m not at Conner’s apartment. I’m at the Hallow Hotel.” She wiped the tears that were brewing in her eyes, “Kevin, I need to go. Bye.”

Memorial Hospital

Chad opened the door to Bethany’s room and Lysa came in with him and a nurse with the twins. “Mommy!” Lysa says happily as she goes over to the bed, “How are you feeling?”

“I am very happy, you know why?” Bethany asked.

Lysa shook her head, “no, why?”

Bethany smiled, “Because I have you, and I have your brother and sister. Have you met them yet?”

“No, what are there names?”

“Del Avery and Fallon Lynn.” Bethany told her as Lysa sat in the chair next to her and Chad placed Del in her arms. “This is Del your little brother. You’re going to watch out for him right?”

Lysa nodded, “Sure will!”

“Good” Bethany said as she looked at her son, “Because I have a feeling he is going to need his older sister, especially when he needs help looking out for Fallon. You’ll watch out for her to right?”

Yuppers!” Lysa replied as she looked at her sister in her step-father’s arm, “I’ll look out for Del and for Fallon, I promise.”

Bethany leaned over and kissed the top of Lysa’s head, “Thank you baby girl.”

Chad sat at the foot of the bed, “I’ll trade you.” He said to Bethany as they exchanged babies and Bethany now held Fallon.

“Lysa, when you and Fallon are older, I want you to make sure you and she watch out for Del when he meets a pretty girl, okay?”

“Sure, Mommy. Anything you ask.” Lysa said proudly.

Love and Honor Set

Wink Montana sat on a stool placed in the living room set of the show with Brock on another one next to him. “Well Brock, you had a chance to have a date with each of the girls. Tell me how did they go?”

Brock smiled, “Well they were all great, though I would say my Date with Trista was very different.”

Wink nodded, “Let’s look at the video.”

They turned to a monitor that showed Trista sitting in a large red chair, “My dream date would probably be a simple evening at home. Just me and Brock, ordering Pizza or Chinese. Then just watch a movie, or listen to some music and talk. Really get to know each other.”

After a quick edit the video goes to show Brock showing up at the bachelorette house with a pizza and some DVD’s and Trista answers the door with all the other girls out for the evening. It turns into a montage of cute moments from the date.

“When we return, we’ll check out Joan and Brock’s date.” Wink’s voice came when the footage was over.

Kyle’s Apartment

Kyle’s eyes narrowed in jealousy as he watched Brock kiss Trista goodnight at the end of the montage. He was seriously going to lose her, and to some guy she met on Television.

Kyle stood up and began to pace around the living room in frenzy and knocked over a picture of him, Noah, Simone, and April together on the pier. He picked it up and looked at the faces he had once seen every day. That was the past though he couldn’t run again. He had screwed up his life in Heaven Beach, and he wasn’t ready to ruin the new one he was creating in Pinõn Hallow.

He went over to the kitchen counter and opened his laptop and logged onto travelocity and began looking up flight information.

Memorial Hospital

Chad came into Bethany’s room after taking the twins back to the nursery and sending Lysa home with Conner. He sat down in the chair next to her, “Hey hon.” He said with a soft voice.

“Hey, are the babies alright?” she asked with a weak smile.

“Yeah they’re perfect, sleeping actually. Lysa and Conner went home, she’ll probably be in bed soon.”

“Good, Chad I love you, I hope that you never forget that.” She took hold of his hand, “If we hadn’t found each other last summer, then my life would be in shambles.”

Bethany don’t—“

Chad, I know what’s happening. I know how weak I am, how weak I’ve become through out the pregnancy. I love you I love our children. Just promise me, that when fate brings you love again you won’t push it away. No matter who it is, its part of the plan.”

“Come on, don’t do this Bethany. Its not happening, I refuse to let it be.” Chad pleaded, as tears threatened to form in his eyes.

Chad, I love you.” She squeezed his hand one last time before her eyes closed, a moment later the silence in the room was broken by the long straining sound of her heart monitor reporting no movement.

Hallow Hotel—Room Six

Maggie had the television on and really wasn’t paying much attention until she heard Brock’s voice, “And tomorrow my good friend Kevin Lane will be back to help narrow the girls down once again.”

She sat up and looked at the screen, “And now, let’s take a look at Joan and Brock’s date.” Came the voice of Wink Montana.

“Kevin’s going to be on Television?” Maggie leaned back, “Did I not know my husband or what?” she asked herself as she rested her hand on the newspaper sitting beside her, with her finger pointing right at an ad.

She looked down, “NEEDED, new manager for busy coffee shop in Pinõn Hallow Mall. Call 555-6824 for more information.” Maggie picked up the phone and began to dial.

Conner’s Apartment

Lysa was asleep in her bedroom, after the exhaustion from waiting all night in the hospital to find out if she had a brother or sister, only to have both. Now Conner was sitting back on his couch, flipping through the channels when he stopped upon a familiar face. “Well Well, Joan looks like you found someone.” He said as he stopped on Love and Honor.

“My Dream Date with Brock would have to be a picnic on the roof of JNC Records at dusk with all the lights in Nashville going on against the setting son.” She looked down at her hands, “I bet its amazing.” The show then went into clips from the date.

Conner took a long sip of his beer and shook his head; unable to believe his one night stand in Denver was on TV looking for love.

The phone rang and Conner picked it up quickly so not to wake Lysa, “McKay’s what can I do for you?”

“Conner, its Adel Davis. Um Bethany didn’t make it Conner. The doctors say she slipped away in her sleep.” Spoke the sorrowful voice on the other end as Conner stared off into space.

“How’s Chad doing with this?” Conner asked as his mind reeled with ways on how he was going to tell Lysa.

“Fine actually, apparently he and Bethany were told to expect this because of how sick she was earlier in the pregnancy.”

Love and Honor—Backstage

Trista and Joan were sitting in the dressing room removing the high heeled shoes they had worn for the show. Trista placed hers in a box and then began to rub her feet, “Joan, you’re already in love with Brock, aren’t you?”

Joan looked up and then at her finger nails, “Can you keep a secret?”

Trista nodded, “I am a doctor, of course I can.”

“Brock and I were once engaged. We almost got married, but I left him. It was a couple of years ago. He was getting so caught up in taking over JNC from his father that I never saw him. I didn’t think he was ready for marriage so I left him.” Joan ran her hand through her hair and then sighed, “Wink knows though, part of me thinks this is some elaborate scheme for Brock to get me back.”

“I hope it is too, Brock’s a great guy and all but to be honest I think he and I could never be more then friends.”

“Who is he?”

Trista blushed, “His name is Kyle he’s an ADA for Pinõn Hallow. He’s amazing, but very much afraid of commitment. The relationship he was in before me he sabotaged it, and this time I think I sabotaged ours with this crazy idea of making him jealous. What did I think he would do? Show up if I made it to the final two, and beg me not to go off with Brock?”

Joan smiled, “Well lets hope that Brock and Kyle follow their hearts. Who knows though we might just find ourselves in a huge twist.
