Episode 2.19

Kathryn’s Apartment—Paris

A small table sat in the middle of the living room, it was covered with a pale blue tablecloth and several candles lit the room. Kathryn came in wearing a tight black dress and put a baby monitor down on the table. A soft knock came on the door and she opened it, her face lit up when she saw Doug standing on the other side.

“Come on in.” She said softly and he noticed the table and smiled.

“It looks lovely Ryn, just lovely.”

“Thanks, we need to keep it down a bit, Quincy is asleep.” She said closing the door behind him.

Doug looked confused, “Ryn, who’s Quincy?”

Kathryn chewed nervously on her lower lip and then looked up at him with big doe like eyes, “Our Daughter.”

Hallow Hotel Room 6

Maggie sat on the bed and looked at the envelope in her hand and slowly opened the seal, taking out the legal document. She stood up and began pacing the floor as she read over the papers, processing everything. Finally, she picked up a pen and signed her name, and initialed in the marked spots. She picked up the return envelope and put the papers in and sealed it closed just as the door opened and Luke came in.

“Hey, Magpie.” He came over and kissed her on the lips.

Maggie’s arms wrapped around him, her body pressing against his in a heated need to feel close to someone else.

Conner’s Apartment

Grace and Conner were sitting on the couch watching one of the many reality TV series flooding the summer airwaves when Lysa came in with a picture. “Daddy, do you know when you’ll see Abby?”

Conner looked over at his young daughter, “why sweetie?”

“I wanted to give her this.” Lysa held up a picture of a family, it looked to have two dads, a mom, and three kids and what Conner could only guess was an Angel in the top corner.

“Who is everyone in the picture Hon?”

Lysa sat down on the couch between Grace and her father, almost pushing Grace away, “Well there’s Mommy in heaven watching over us, that’s you and that’s Chad. Then that’s me with Del and Fallon.”

Conner pointed to the woman in the picture, “Who’s that?”

“Abby of course, I want her to have this.”

Conner smiled at his daughter, “How about tomorrow we go and bring this by her apartment. If she’s not their we can leave it with Dan, okay?”

Lysa lit up, “Thanks Daddy!”

“No problem princess.” He said kissing the top of her head. A moment later Lysa ran off to her room.

“She’s adorable Conner, you’re very lucky.”

“When will Jasmine be back, I would love for her and Lysa to meet.

“Soon, a few days from now.” Grace looked down at her nails, “hopefully her father is going to come out here sometime this summer—but the last time I spoke with him he was having some problems in Hawaii.”

“Nothing to serious I hope.”

“He’s found his younger brother it could get to be a sticky situation, they have a lot of animosity between them.”

Hallow Hotel Room 6

Maggie deepened the kiss she was sharing with Luke as he hands began to fumble with the buttons of his Hawaiian print shirt and her finger tips skimmed the smooth, muscular chest.

Luke began kissing Maggie’s neck and they moved closer to the bed as his hands removed her shirt and began to knead her warm alabaster skin.

Maggie moaned in his ear as she felt the texture of his tongue on her neck as she ached to be released of her clothes and be close to him.

Pool House—Hallow Hills

Abby left the twins asleep in their nursery and took a bundle of towels to the bathroom. The door was open just a few inches, which was normal as she opened the door, Chad was stepping out of the shower having just picked up a towel.

“Mr. Davis, I am so sorry.” Abby said before turning around and looking at the ceiling, “I had no idea you were in here. I didn’t hear the shower and the door was open, I’m just very sorry.”

“Miss Adams, it was a simple mistake, it’s alright.” He said tying the towel around him. “If you just put them over there I can put them away. Besides, you should be getting home it’s late and I’m sure your family misses you.”

Abby turned around half way and looked at him, “Its fine, I just have to get a few bottles ready and then I’ll be on my way and I’ll see you tomorrow of course.”

“Alright then, thank you again Miss Adams.”

“Good night Mr. Davis, the twins are sound asleep for a little while at least.” Abby left the bathroom and an embarrassing shade of red took over her face as she went into the kitchen to prepare a few bottles.

Dan and Abby’s Apartment

Dan stretched out on the couch and began flipping through the mail when he came across one from the police academy. He sat straight up and began to open it, nerves surging through his body.

Abby came in and tossed her purse on the chair next to him. “Hey Dan, what’s going on?”

Dan was silent as a smile poured across his face, “I’m in!”

Abby rolled her eyes, “yes you’re secretly gay, lets move on.”

Dan snapped out of the trance, “not funny abs.” He looked back at the paper, “Okay listen Sis, this is going to be some big news okay so don’t freak out.”

Abby’s mouth gaped open, “You’re not really coming out are you?”

“No I’m totally straight sis, I promise.” He said standing up, “I’m going to college, well sort of.”

“What do you mean sort of? Burger University doesn’t count and neither does Subway University.”

“What about the Police Academy?”

Abby felt her heart race as she looked at her older brother, her protector and the one she always felt needed her to protect him, “You want to be a cop?”

“Always, this is what I’ve been saving for.” He said pride all over his face, “After Ciel left I realized I had to do something with my life and this—this is it.”

Abby leaned back in her seat, “What do you do now?”

“I’ve got to go tell Dad, Mom will be harder to tell but thankfully she’s at one of those cosmetic conferences ya know.”

“Yes I know them well, she used to drag me with her, remember.”

“So I just have to tell Dad, I’m leaving to go to school.”

“LEAVING?!”

“Yeah. I’m going to the one on the other side of the state. If I’m going to do this right Abs, I gotta be away from Pinõn Hallow for a while.”

“How long?”

“It’s only a few months of intense training and study. You’ll be fine here alone, and if not why not go back and stay with Mom and Dad?”

“I’ll be fine here, I’m just going to miss you. I mean Dan, Sam already left and we haven’t heard from him for a while. I don’t know what life is like without you. I’ve always had one of you around.”

Dan hugged his sister, “Don’t worry about it Abs, I’ll be back soon and I don’t leave for a while anyways not for a few weeks at least. I promise.”

“Alright, if you say so.”

220 Shavano Lane

John Adams sat in his private office typing away. The walls were a deep hunter green, and the furniture a dark cherry. The wall behind the desk was filled with books, many with brown paper covers and the titles written in bold black letters. Three lavender scented candles were burning by the large picture window, as disco music played softly in the background.

He wore a tight black tee shirt and pair of dark denim jeans, and had bare feet, as he was lost in his latest collection of characters as the door slowly opened and Dan snuck in and over to the window, catching the sight of Shavano Mountain that his father claimed was his muse. “Dad,” Dan began before turning to look at his father, “I need to talk to you.”

John looked up and smiled at his son, “Hey how are you Dan?” he stood up and went over and hugged his son, “what brings you here into my sanctuary?”

Dan smiled and took out the acceptance letter, “I’m leaving for a little while, and I’m going to the Police Academy.”

John looked at the letter, “That’s great Dan! Have you told your mother yet?”

Dan shook his head, “I figured I’d wait. You’re the second to find out, Abby was there when I was reading the letter.”

“I’m proud of you Son, I’m glad you decided what to do with your life. I’ll admit I was hoping one of you would decide to become a writer, but hey I did work as a security guard first.” John smiled before blowing out the candles, “How about we go and see how much of my famous chili I still have since you’re mom’s out of town.”

“That sounds great Dad.”

Kathryn’s Apartment—Paris

Doug shook his head; he could feel his blood boiling with anger, “How come you didn’t tell me you were pregnant?”

“I didn’t want to tell you over the phone.” Kathryn picked up the baby monitor and held it protectively in her hands. “I wanted to tell you this in person. I wasn’t in Rome the last time you came, I was having Quincy.”

Doug released a long breath, “Ryn, this is something you should have told me right away, what do you want me to do?”

“Adel never gave you a child Doug, I have. Leave her; stay here in Paris with Quincy and me. Stay with your child.”

Doug shook his head; “I have children with Adel two boys! Chad’s only a year younger then you Ryn, and Kip he needs me.”

“Kip left Pinõn Hallow! Word travels quickly at DI Doug. It’s a surprise you didn’t find out I was pregnant.”

Doug took hold of Kathryn’s wrist and looked into her eyes, “Don’t expect to have me and Quincy as a part of your life Ryn, I am that child’s father and I will be there. No child of mine has ever or will ever not have me as a part of their life.”
