Episode 2.23

Hallow Hills—Main House

“Jeffery?” Adel asked as she walked into the living room, her hair down and she was dressed in basic jeans and a blue top.

Jeff looked up from his paper work, “Yes Adel?”

“I think we had a misunderstanding out there on the porch. I mean yes I think my husband could possibly be cheating on me, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love him. I have loved him since the day I first met him.” Adel sat down next to him on the couch, “I remember he walked into the men’s department with your father. When his eyes caught sight of me, I knew this was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I didn’t care if he was this guys butler, this was the man for me.”

“Adel, when you talk like this, I wonder if you really know what my brother is like.” Jeff said shaking his head, “Doug has many sides and he only shows the ones he wants a person to see. So to you, he’s the perfect husband and father.”

Adel stood up, “Please Jeff, what I’m really trying to tell you is, I’d like to forget about what happened out on the porch and then we can move on with our lives in tact. Doug never has to know, and it can never happen again.”

Jeff sighed, “If that’s what you really want, then fine I’ll keep my distance from you.” He stood up and was right in front of her, “For now at least, sooner or later you’ll learn who Doug really is.” He walked out of the living room and Adel stood there for a moment watching him before hearing her cell phone ringing.

Doug’s Office—DI Paris

Ahh, my little girl.” Doug said as he stood over a basinet he had brought in for her, “Quincy however is just the wrong name. You’re new mother Adel will give you a precious name, though your older brother’s did get an interesting tap, Chadwick and Kipland. You’ll meet them soon and you’ll love them, and they’ll love you. Perhaps Kip will come home.” He smiled, “Let’s call your Mommy and tell her about you.”

Doug went back to his desk and picked up the phone and dialed Adel’s cell number. When she picked up a wicked smile crossed over his face, “Adel, darling how are you?”

“Fine, oh Jeff came home. Don’t worry he hasn’t caused too much trouble yet. But sweetie when will you be home, I miss you.”

“I’ll come home tomorrow, I have a surprise. Now I know this will shock you, but I’ve adopted a child while I’ve been here.” He leaned back in his chair and placed his feet on his desk.

“A child, Doug, what?” Adel’s voice showed the panic and shock she was feeling.

“Yes, a beautiful little girl. Her mother was an employee here but she was tragically killed in a boating accident. The father wasn’t a part of her life, so I thought we could give her a wonderful life back in the states.”

“Doug, we’ve got two grown boys, we’re grandparents. Do you honestly think becoming adopted parents again is the best idea?”

“Adel I’ve already had the paper work put together. You can sign the papers when I and our new baby girl arrive tomorrow evening.” He leaned forward, “and please start thinking of a name for her.”

Adel sighed, “Alright, I’ll go see what I can get for her before then. How old is this new daughter of ours?”

“Four months, she’s precious, you’ll fall in love with her as soon as you lay eyes on her.”

“I’ll see what I can do Doug, I better go I have a meeting. I love you.”

“I love you two darling, see you soon.” Doug hung up the phone before leaning back once again, “Oh my darling daughter, you’re mother will adore you. Just like always.”

Pinõn Hallow Park

Abby pushed the stroller down the path towards the river and stopped when she saw Ethan jogging towards her. “Hey long time no see.”

“Same to you stranger.” He leaned over and kissed her cheek, “Who do we have here?”

“Fallon and Del Davis, Chad’s children.”

“They’re precious, he has their baptism scheduled in a few months.” Ethan smiled at her, “How are you doing?”

“I’m alright, I might go and stay with my parents for a while. Dan’s going to be out of town for a while and I think the Apartment might be too lonely.”

Ethan cocked his head to the side, “You could come and stay with me, I have like 3 spare rooms.”

Abby chuckled, “I’m your ex-girlfriend and you’re the town minister people would talk.”

“Let them talk Abigail, come on, we’re best friends besides my house is closer to hallow hills, and its me or your parents. Last I heard your father was on a writing rampage, I know how things in your house get. You’re mother talks—a lot.”

Abby nodded, “True, I’ll think about it. So tell me what’s new in your world.”

Ethan stood up straight, “I’m going to hire a private investigator to find my biological father.”

“Wow, I’m glad to hear that, it sounds like something that you need to do.”

“Yeah, I hope finding out who he is, will help me understand something about who I am, and where I fit in, well besides my calling.”

“Good luck, I better get the kids back, I’ll let you know about staying with you.”

“Yeah when ever you need me just call me.” Ethan told her before jogging off.

Kyle’s Apartment

Kyle kicked open the door of his apartment and carried Trista over the threshold, “Well we’re back.” He said as he put her down and kissed her.

“I’m glad, as much as I enjoyed the islands, I’m glad to be home, with you.” She had her arms around him and a huge smile on his face.

“Yeah, I’m just glad I made a fool out of myself on national television for you.”

Trista smiled, “I never expected you to break onto the set and declare your love for me.” She looked down for a moment before back up, “If anything I figured you would stop me at the airport before I left.”

“Yeah well I had to figure it out first.” He kissed her neck, “lets not talk, I’m more in the mood to kiss you, all over, and all night long.”

Trista giggled, “I think I can go for that.” She then kissed him on the mouth and the fell back onto the couch.
