Episode 3.15

The Java Jet

Eric Savoren sat in the corner, anxiously tapping his foot while he drank his tea. He looked down at his watch, it was already five minutes after one. Where was Cassie?

“Hey, I am so sorry I’m late.” She sat down across from him, “Parking out there is just nuts. Its worst then before Christmas.”

Eric smiled, “No problem.” He pushed a cup of coffee towards her, “I got you a Caramel Latte. We should get going if we went to get to the cabin and get it all set up.”

“Great, if this doesn’t get Maggie and Conner back together, I don’t know what will.” Cassie stood up, “And thanks for the latte.”

Eric blushed, “Its no problem, lets take my car.”

Abby sat alone at the table alternating between chewing her finger nails and drinking her cappuccino.

“Abby, what is wrong?” Ethan pulled out the chair across from her and sat down, “You look nervous.”

Abby let her hand fall to the table, “I just didn’t sleep much last night. I just couldn’t get to that great REM cycle.”

“Honey, I’m so sorry to hear that. Well you have today and tomorrow off, I mean after midnight you can get as much sleep as you want.”

“Yeah.” She nodded before taking another sip of her drink.

“Is something else wrong?”

Abby looked up, and searched her mind for some sort of answer, “Well Ethan, now that you mention it. There is.”

“Well honey, tell me what’s wrong.”

“My parents, I think they’re not getting along too well right now.” She lied as she caught sight of Chad from the corner of her eye.

“And that has you scared because we’re planning on getting married. Right?”

“Exactly, its just hard to imagine that they were in as much love as we are right now, and yet now it seems its all falling apart around them.”

Ethan took Abby’s left hand in his and rubbed her fingers with his thumb, “No matter what happens Abby, I will love you forever. I know we had a rough patch as we went through our priorities. But I know something, I know I can serve God and be a loving husband to you, and loving father to whatever children we have.”

Abby felt her eyes well up with tears, “You are way too good to me Ethan.”

“I just love you, that’s all.” He brought her hand to his lips and gently kissed it, “I’ve got to go set up for the youth group tonight. Are you still coming by for dinner?”

She nodded, “Of course, Pizza and movies. The perfect New Years Eve.”

Maggie stood in the line at the Java Jet as she waited for her Vanilla Latte, she was just impatient, she didn’t want to run into Conner. She wasn’t sure how to deal with him now. Now that she ended things with Carsyn. “Vanilla Latte with whipped cream.” the girl behind the counter called out and Maggie took her drink.

Just as she turned around she bumped into Conner who was waiting for his own drink, “Mags.”

“Conner.” She looked down at her drink, avoiding his eyes.

“How ya doing Mags?” He took a step back to give her space, even though every single particle inside of him wanted to mix with hers.

“Alright, and you?”

“Good. How are things with the good Doctor?” He didn’t really want to know but he didn’t want to seem possessive.

Maggie looked up as she licked her already glossy lips, “Carsyn and I are over. I ended things with him.”

“I’m sorry to hear that.” he said as he lowed his head to try and hide his grin.

“No your not Conner.” She smiled and turned her head to look up at him, “You couldn’t stand him, but not as badly as you couldn’t stand Kevin.”

Conner sighed, “You know me way too well Mags.”

She nodded, “I know.” she glanced at the clock, “I should get back to the store. It was good talking to you.”

“Yeah it was good talking to you to.”

“Bye.”

Conner nodded, “Bye Mags.”

Chad walked out from the back room into the lobby and saw as his cousin took Abby’s hand in his. His blood boiled with jealousy. He took the spray bottle and began wiping down the straw counter, and then in the reflection of one of the cream jugs he saw Ethan kiss Abby’s hand. He stopped, and stood there leaning against the counter. Deep breaths. In. Out.

Abby’s engaged to Ethan, he kept telling himself that but obviously it didn’t matter. Abby got to him in ways no other woman, not even Bethany had.

He focused himself on his work and when he looked back Abby and Ethan were gone.

He pulled the hood down and ran his hands through his blond hair before he leaned against the railing and looked across the food court into the Java Jet. Chad was upset about something, and he’d bet anything it had to do with the brunette and the other guy she was with.

Shavano Inn Room 7

Preston Layden threw the door of his room closed and tossed his jacket on a near by chair. “These cops suck!” he yelled, anger boiling with in him.

He flopped back on the bed and looked up at the ceiling, “I promise you Katy, I’ll find out who killed you. Then I’ll get Quincy back. I promise you baby, I promise.”

He rolled over on his side and opened the bedside drawer and took out a picture of him and Kathryn. She wore a long white gown, and he wore a tux. “Whoever killed you is going to pay baby. No one takes my family away from me.” he sighed, trying to hold back sobs, “Till death do us part, we didn’t have nearly enough time baby, not enough.”

Hallow Hotel Room 15

He looked around his room, chills came over his body, all he could wish was to accomplish this mission and get the hell out of town. He hated Pinõn Hallow, and the memories it carried.

His eyes stopped at the table in the corner and he looked at the pictures he had arranged, one of Chad, one of Bethany, one of Abby, another of Kathryn, and one of Brighton Simpson.

He reached over for the picture of Brighton and took a lighter to it, setting it on fire. “It was his fault Brighton burned.” He quickly tossed it in to the ashtray the motel provided.

“And Bethany, sweet, innocent Bethany, he destroyed you too.” he picked the picture of Bethany up and tore it in half, “You stupid whore!”

As he took the picture of Chad in his hands he smiled, “You’ll pay for what you did. You’ll pay for all the pain you cause people. You and the brunette.”

He reached into an envelope and revealed more pictures of Brighton Simpson, including ones that had Chad Davis in them as well. He took the one of the two of them kissing and turned it over. He ran his fingers over the back of the glossy paper before taking the marker and writing.

Ethan’s House

Abby ran her hands together after ringing the bell, waiting for Ethan to open the door. The cold air was getting to her, and she just had to talk to him again. She had to try to be honest with him. She was tired of lying to herself, and to him.

Ethan opened the door and smiled when he saw Abby, “Hey, you’re early come on in.”

“I’m sorry, I just couldn’t wait to see you.”

“Are you feeling better after earlier?”

She nodded as she removed her hat, gloves, and coat. “How did the set up go?”

“Great, the kids are going to have fun tonight.”

“That’s great, so um Ethan there is one thing that got me thinking earlier.”

Ethan led her into the kitchen, “Hold that thought, I have to take the brownies out of the oven.”

“You made brownies? Why?”

“Dessert.” he opened the oven and with a gloved hand removed the pan. “So what do you want to talk about.

Abby leaned against the door frame, “Ethan, what makes you so sure about us? What moment made you realize this could work?”

Ethan turned, smiling, “The night I found out Jeff was my father. You didn’t want me hurt, I knew then that you’re the one.”

Abby felt herself soften, Ethan had a point, “That was it? Just that moment?”

He nodded, “Love isn’t this huge difficult thing Abby. There are moments that change our lives. We see, do, or even say something that proves to us where we’re going in life.”

A wave of relief came over her, “Great, that’s just what I needed. I was looking for the perfect thing to cheer Dan up.” she knew it was a lie but she had to think about all of this. Dan would know how to fix this all, well unless he went and killed Chad. “I’ll be back for dinner, I promise.”

Ethan kissed her on the forehead, “I’ll be waiting.”

214 Shavano Court

“This is going to be absolutely perfect.” Kyle told himself as she pushed the last of the living room furniture into the garage before going into the kitchen and taking a bag of candles into the living room. He began to arrange them in the fire place, as he tried to set up the perfect mood for tonight.

The house phone began to ring as he placed the last candle in the fireplace and he reached for the cordless, “Kyle Roberts.” he paused as he listened on the other end, “I’m on my way.”

As he left he looked around and just hoped he’d get home before Trista so he could finish setting up. As he exited he looked back at the French doors and closed them.

Savoren Cabin

Cassie put the final stack of pillows by the fireplace as Eric came in carrying the final load of wood, “We’ve got a problem.”

“Not enough wood?” she asked as she arranged the pillows.

He shook his head as he placed the load next to the wall, “More like a sudden snow storm outside. I can barely see right in front of me as I was coming back.”

“What?” Cassie panicked and went to the window, he was right. It was snowing, and snowing hard. “How did we not hear this on the weather report?”

Eric sighed as he removed his jacket and gloves, “Probably because for the last week they’ve been predicting snow for this area and it hasn’t gotten any.”

“We can drive out of here right?” Cassie was tense and angry.

“Nope, its too dangerous. The snow is too thick and its freezing out there.”

“If I’m not home Maggie is going to freak out. She’s suppose to be in charge since I stayed while my Dad and the rest of the family went back to Durango.”

Eric placed his hands on her shoulders, “Cassie, it’ll be fine. We have food, fire, water, we’re completely fine. We’re not going freeze to death or anything. We’re just stuck here until at least morning.”

Cassie plopped down on the couch, “It wasn’t us that should be stuck up here. It should be Maggie and Conner.”

“It could be worst.”

“How?”

“We could be stuck up here, with them.”

Cassie couldn’t help but giggle, “You’re right. The way they keep bickering they’d kill us before realizing they belong together.”

Eric sat beside her, facing her, “Besides, who knows they could be getting it right tonight, with out us meddling.”

“Yes, because they’ve done brilliantly so far?”

Ya never know, fate has a way of doing some strange things.”

Abby and Dan’s Apartment

“Oh Thank God you’re home.” Abby said as she slammed the apartment door shut.

Dan looked up from his video game, “What crawled up your butt?”

Abby crossed her arms, “You know if you knew what was wrong you would probably ask a different question.”

“Who hurt you? Where’s my gun, where’s my badge.” Dan paused the game and got up looking around as if he’d left it on the table.

“Dan.” she grabbed his upper arm, “Its not that. I need to talk to my big brother, and well you’re it.”

“What’s this about Abigail?”

Abby cringed at the formal name, “I’m conflicted.”

“About what? You’re engaged to Ethan, it seems you have a decent job for Chad Davis. What’s there to be conflicted about?”

Abby looked down at the ring on her left hand and removed it, “This, and if Ethan’s the one I want putting a ring there.”

Dan’s eyes narrowed, “Who else would you want a ring from?”

Abby leaned back in the chair as if it were a protective force field, “Chad.”

Dan jumped up, “Abby! Chad Davis, explain, now!”

“Sit down and stop acting like a psychopath and I will.”

Dan slumped back to the couch, “Go on.”

“I work very closely to Chad, I’m helping to raise his kids. And over the past few months I’ve started to develop feelings for him. Very strong substantial feelings.”

“What about your feelings for Ethan?”

“I love Ethan, but I’m starting to see it as a friendship love.”

“What about the engagement, why did you say yes if you weren’t sure.”

“Because I had no idea Chad was possibly feeling the same way.”

Dan rolled his eyes, “You mean you don’t know if he loves you, and your willing to throw your life away for a guy who’s probably shown no interest.”

“Dan, its not like that.”

“You’re not sleeping with him, are you?”

“Daniel, no. Chad and I have kissed. Once on Christmas Eve, under the mistletoe in the front door.” She stood up, tossing the ring from one hand to the other, “It was the most amazing kiss ever Dan. It’s the kind of kisses that Dad writes about, only better.”

“I’m not sure I want to hear anymore.”

“Dan, what if Chad’s the one and I throw that away for stability with Ethan. What if I end up as miserable as Dad and Mom are.

“But they’re not—“

“Yes Dan they are.” Abby put her hand up to stop him. “Think about it, Dad always has this longing look in his eyes. Mom always acts like she won some big prize.”

“Dad was a catch in High School, that’s all.”

“I just don’t want to end up like that.”

“So what are you going to do Sis?”

Abby sat down next to him, pulling a pillow into her lap and hugging it, “I have no idea.”

Dan stood up, gave her a kiss on the cheek, “Follow your heart, it’ll lead you to the right answer. I may not like it, but it’ll be right for you.”

“Where are you going?”

“To Moonlight, you could use the time alone to figure out what you want.”

Hallow Hotel Room 5

Lysa keyed into the Motel room, she was ready to surprise Sean for some afternoon fun. But it looked like he was at work. She sighed as she walked around the room, the bed freshly made. She rarely saw it like that.

She looked over on the table and saw a piece of paper labeled instructions.

1.Gain confidence.

2.Introduce costumes.

3.Enforce rules.

4.Share.

Lysa re-read it several times, as she tried to understand it, Share, what the hell did that mean?

“Lysa, what are you doing here?” Sean asked as he came in and saw her with the paper.

“I was going to surprise you Uncle.” She placed the paper back on the table before he could see she had it.

Sean smiled, “Oh baby doll, that’s so sweet. But I’m only here for a little while I left something and I’m on my way over to check out an apartment.”

Lysa walked over and let her finger tips touch the edge of his belt, “You have a few minutes to spare, don’t you?”

“What do you have in mind?”

“Oh I thought I could relieve the pressure building in your pants.” She unzipped them, before slowing dropping to her knees.

“Good idea.”

Trista walked into the house and found none of the lights on, “Kyle are you home?” she called out and noticed the French doors to the living room were closed.

As she opened them, she saw the empty room. “Kyle?” she called out and felt her worst fear becoming a reality. “Kyle Roberts, please where are you?”

She went into the kitchen and didn’t see his keys or his phone, “Damnit.”

She picked up the house phone and started dialing, “Carsyn, it’s Trista. Kyle left me.”

Carsyn came in and saw Trista sitting on the stairs; she had closed the doors. Her eyes were puffy and red from crying. “Trista, are you sure he’s gone?”

“His keys, phone, the living room furniture. All gone. I don’t have the heart to go and see the empty closets.”

Carsyn took her in his arms, “It’ll be alright honey. You’ll get through this.”

“I just thought, this was it. I had found the one.” she said through sobs.

“Honey, we think that a lot of the time and we’re wrong. Look at me, I thought Maggie was the one, and she dumped me.” he smiled when Trista looked up, “You wanna here how.”

Trista nodded, “Tell me.”

“She brought me a pie and told me it was over.”

Trista smiled, “See you’re feeling better already.” Carsyn kissed her forehead.

Trista pulled back just a little and looked up at him, “I was stupid to let you go.”

Carsyn brushed the hair out of her face, “We were still kids even though we had our degrees.”

“But we’re not kids anymore.” Trista touched Carsyn’s face before she kissed him.

225 Shavano Court

John walked into the living room and saw Lydia setting up for a party, “Another Joni Lyn thing?” he asked.

“Yeah, the New Years Special.” She beamed as she set up the latest eye shadow colors, “Is something wrong John?”

“Yeah, Lydia do you love me, or just the idea of me?”

Lydia froze before slowly looking up at her husband, “What brings this on?”

John sighed and walked around the couch to face her, “It seems lately you’d rather push this stuff then keep our family together.”

“But we are together, well except for Sam but he’s at school.”

“That’s not what I mean Lydia. I mean pushing Dan to find a girl, pushing Abby to go for Chad Davis, when she’s engaged to Ethan.” John took her hand in his, “Pushing me away.”

“If anyone’s pushing someone away, it’s you John. You lock yourself up in your office, writing those trashy books.” Lydia pulled out her purse and took out a pile of papers, “I found this and read it. Livvie sounds a hell of a lot like Laura Davis.”

John closed his eyes, “Livvie is a character.”

Lydia shook her head, “You still want Laura Davis, don’t you?”

“Yes, I’ve always wanted Laura.” he spat out before he knew it.

Tears filled Lydia’s eyes as she tossed the manuscript down, “Get out John, just get the hell out of my house.”

Lyd, I’m sorry. Please, its not like that.”

She took a long breath, “I was second best, right? You wanted her the whole time but she broke up with you.” Lydia shook her head, “You couldn’t have Laura, so why not go for her best friend.”

“You stopped being her friend when you chased after me.”

“John, I want you out. I’m sure Dan and Abby will put you up if you don’t tell them you’re in love with another woman.”

John walked to the door, “Fine, Lydia. You want me gone, then I’m leaving.”

Ethan’s House

Jeff let himself in the back door of the kitchen and saw Ethan at the counter placing brownies on a plate, “Who are those for?” Jeff asked as his hello.

“Hi Jeff, there for dessert for me and Abby tonight.”

Jeff sighed, “Have you talked to her today?”

“Yeah, of course I did. Why?”

“Did she seem upset about anything?”

Ethan nodded, “Yeah, John and Lydia aren’t getting along as well as she would expect. I think its got her rattled.”

Rattled enough to kiss Chad? Jeff thought in his mind, “Son, I know we’re not very close at all. But are you sure about Abby?”

“Dad,” Ethan began with a smile, “I’m almost as sure about Abby, as I was about becoming a minister.”

Jeff looked down, “Ethan, just make sure this is what you both want before you end up getting hurt.”

“Dad, I’m not going to hurt Abby.”

“I’m not worried about her, I’m worried about you.”

Ethan put a hand on Jeff’s shoulder, “Abby would never hurt me.”

“I hope to God you’re right.”

“I am.”

Moonlight Bar

Dan walked in and found the bar to be pretty busy with the holiday. He made his way to the bar and an empty seat before ordering a true blond. After getting his drink he looked around and saw Siobhan at the other end.

Something was wrong, Siobhan never drank. She was always ready and willing for work. But why was she alone? Where the hell was the chief when obviously his girlfriend needed him.

Dan got up, and took his drink with him, “Siobhan, are you alright?” he asked as he took the seat next to her.

“Men suck.” she said before taking another sip of her pinstripe.

“What did Becker do?”

“Lied, what else. He lied about everything, you know the bastard is married.” Siobhan took a long sip finishing her beer.

“I am so sorry.” Dan took a drink from his own beer as Siobhan flagged the bartender down for another. “How much have you had so far?”

“Just the one, but don’t worry I won’t drink.”

“Good, that would look really bad if Pinõn Hallows top cop caught driving drunk.”

“You’re a good, but scary kid.” Siobhan took a drink from her new beer, “You know how freaked out I was when I found out there were two of you?”

Dan smiled, “Aww but you gotta miss our little witness accounts.”

Siobhan laughed, “No, it was always hell. One of you was always seeing something.”

“I know, Sam found a lot of trouble.”

“How is he?”

“Happy, he and Pam are together.”

“Really? How’d that happen.

“Fate.” Dan replied as he took another sip of his drink.

Savoren Cabin

Cassie paced around the living area and hit her cell phone, “Damn it no service. I can’t even let Maggie know that I’m okay.”

“Cassie, relax. It’ll be fine.” Eric handed her a cup of hot cocoa, “Just relax, we might as well try and enjoy our time together.”

She shrugged, “What is this the part where you tell me you’ve had a crush on me for years?”

“Would that be a bad thing?”

“Eric, you’re way older then me. You’ll be a senior in college next fall. I’ll be a freshmen. That’s like a major difference. I know, I live in a college town.”

“I never said it was true, I just asked if it was a bad thing.”

“Sorry, I get defensive. My Dad is so over protective at times, I think I just push people away on purpose.”

“I understand, please I’m just getting to a point where Conner is alright with me handling the store with out him. He finally stopped joking I would set it on fire.”

“Why did he think that?” She asked as she sat down on the couch, curling her legs under her.

“Oh you’re kidding right? I used to have the whole earth child thing going on. Total hippie want to be.”

“Oh that, I guess I see that.” She took a sip and looked him up and down, “So what’s with the cleaner look?”

“I’m growing up I guess.”

She nodded, “I understand, but then again I’m usually pretty put together.”

“Cause of the pageants?”

“Exactly, I mean on a weekend when I’m out to win, I look so different.” she shrugged, “I usually keep the whole beauty queen thing a secret though. A lot of the girls at school would make fun of me.”

“That’s never fun.” Eric sat beside her again, “Well next year you won’t have that problem. And you can always come hang out at my Frat house if you need to get away from the dorm.”

“Thanks Eric, that’s sweet.”

Siobhan’s Apartment

“Hey you’ve reached Siobhan, I can’t get to the phone so please leave a message.” Her machine beeped.

“Hey, it’s me Becker. Please Siobhan call me back.”

Just as the machine hung up the door opened and Dan and Siobhan came in swaying as they walked. Dan kicked the door closed and a moment later he and Siobhan were on the floor laughing.

“I’m glad I’m comedy for someone.” he laughed as Siobhan stood up and then helped him up.

“Coffee, we need coffee.” She reminded herself as she went into the kitchen and put a pot on.

“You’ve got a nice place.” Dan sat down on the couch and Siobhan soon joined him.

“Thanks. Coffee should be done soon.” She saw the machine blinking and then looked at the caller id, “He can wait.”

“Becker?”

“If that’s what he wants to be called.” Siobhan’s bitterness filled her voice as she looked at Dan, “Thank’s for helping me home.”

“No problem.” He felt her hand on his chest, her body close enough he could feel the heat. It was getting really hot in here.

“You’re a great guy Dan Adams.” She laughed, “Or should I say delivery boy.”

“No one’s called me that for a while.” He said before he felt Siobhan’s lips on his.

Conner’s Apartment

Lysa paid close attention to MTV while Conner made dinner in the kitchen. She would rather be anywhere but here.

Someone began knocking, “Come in.” she called out.

Conner sent her a look, “Fine, I’ll get it.” She got up and opened the door, to Sean. “Hey Uncle Sean.”

Conner came out, “Sean, what brings you by?”

“What I can’t visit my favorite big brother and my only niece?”

“Well come on in, Lysa turn the TV down.”

Lysa rolled her eyes but she did turn it down, “So Sean, what’s going on?” she asked as she laid down on the couch.

“I just thought I’d say hello to my new neighbors. I just got the apartment downstairs.”

“That’s great.” Conner said, “Lysa sit up, don’t take up the whole couch.”

Lysa sat up and kept her eyes on the TV.

“Why don’t you stay for Dinner Sean. We’ve got plenty.” Conner suggested.

“I can’t, I’m on duty tonight.”

“Another time then.” Conner said as a timer went off.

Conner ran into the kitchen and Sean leaned over Lysa and put something in her hand, “Midnight, my apartment.” he whispered before going to the door, “Night Conner, Happy New Year!”

“Happy New Year to you too!” Conner called out from the kitchen.

“Night Uncle Sean.” She said as she slipped the key into her bra.

210 Shavano Court

Maggie looked around the house again, hoping to find a note or see her answering machine blinking. Nothing. No sign of Cassie anywhere.

She picked up her phone and began calling Cassie’s cellphone again, “Cassidy, it’s Maggie. Call me the minute you get this. Do you understand me? Where the hell are you?”

She hung the phone back up and started pacing again, she had to do something to keep her mind off of Cassie, and where she had vanished to.

She opened a cabinet in the kitchen and took out some flour and other baking products.

Hallow Hills

Abby knocked on the front door of Hallow Hills, she knew Doug and Adel were gone for the night, Kip was back in Florida. She could only hope that Laura and Jeff had left Chad alone.

“I’m coming!” Chad called from inside.

Abby danced from the cold, and cursed the Colorado weather as she waited.

Chad opened the door, “Abby, what are you doing here?”

Abby took a moment before speaking, “Do you love me?”

Chad grew the biggest smile on his face, “Yes, I do.”

Abby threw her arms around him and kissed him.

Chad pulled her into the house as he kissed her back before pulling away, “So you know I love you, but aren’t we missing a piece of the puzzle.”

“I love you to Chad.” She blushed as he pulled her cap off her head.

He smiled and pulled her to him, kissing her softly, as he undid her jacket.

The loneliness of nights alone
The search for strength to carry on
My ev’ry hope had seemed to die
My eyes had no more tears to cry
Then, like the sunshine from up above
You surrounded me with your endless love
And all the things I couldn’t see
Are now so clear to me

Chad continued to kiss Abby as they leaned against the door of his bed room. He stopped for a moment to catch his breath, “Are you sure about all of this.”

“Yeah I am.” She lifted her left hand and removed Ethan’s ring, “More then I have ever been about anything in my life.”

“Good.” Chad kissed her again as she pushed the ring into her pocket.

You are my ev’rything
Nothing your love won’t bring
My life is yours alone
The only love I’ve ever known
Your spirit pulls me through
When nothing else will do
Ev’ry night, I pray on bended knee
That you will always be
My ev’rything

Chad opened the door, pulling Abby into the room with him. He gently closed it behind him as he led her to the bed.

Abby sat on the bed, reaching up and unbuttoning Chad’s cotton shirt.

Now, all my hopes and all my dreams
Are suddenly reality
You’ve opened up my heart to feel
A kind of love that’s truly real
A guiding light that will never fade
There’s not a thing in life that I would ever trade
For the love you give and won’t let go
I hope you’ll always know

Chad removed his shirt and tossed it into the darkeness, before kissing Abby again and leaning forward, pushing her back onto the bed.

Abby pushed herself up further on the bed, steadying herself as Chad’s body covered hers.

You are my ev’rything
Nothing your love won’t bring
My life is yours alone
The only love I’ve ever known
Your spirit pulls me through
When nothing else will do
Ev’ry night, I pray on bended knee
That you will always be
My ev’rything

Chad ran his hands down the side of her body before his fingers found the seam of her t-shirt, where he could feel her warm skin as he pulled the fabric up and over her lace bra.

Oh, oh, you’re the breath of life in me
The only one that sets me free
And you have made my soul complete
For all time
For all time

Chad sat up, taking Abby with him as he removed her top, and bra.

Abby kissed Chad’s neck, and nibbled on his ear. Hungry for him.

You are my ev’rything
Nothing your love won’t bring
My life is yours alone
The only love I’ve ever known
Your spirit pulls me through
When nothing else will do
Ev’ry night, I pray on bended knee
That you will always be
My ev’rything

Chad got off the bed and looked down at Abby, before picking her up in his arms, placing her in the middle of the bed.

You are my ev’rything
Nothing your love won’t bring
My life is yours alone
The only love I’ve ever known
Your spirit pulls me through
When nothing else will do
Ev’ry night, I pray down on bended knee
That you will always be
My ev’rything
Oh, my everything

214 Shavano Court

I woke up early this morning around 4am
With the moon shining bright as headlights on the interstate
I pulled the covers over my head and tried to catch some sleep
But thoughts of us kept keeping me awake
Ever since you found yourself in someone else’s arms
I’ve been tryin’ my best to get along
But that’s OK
There’s nothing left to say, but

Kyle walked into the house and tossed his key’s in the bowl. He looked and saw that the French doors were still closed. He smiled and opened the doors and went to light the candles.

Take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don’t need’em
Take your space and take your reasons
But you’ll think of me
And take your cat and leave my sweater
’Cause we have nothing left to weather
In fact I’ll feel a whole lot better
But you’ll think of me, you’ll think of me

Kyle ran a hand through his hair as he closed the doors again and went up the stairs.

I went out driving trying to clear my head
I tried to sweep out all the ruins that my emotions left
I guess I’m feeling just a little tired of this
And all the baggage that seems to still exist
It seems the only blessing I have left to my name
Is not knowing what we could have been
What we should have been
So

Trista pulled Carsyn on top of her under the sheets, his mouth meeting hers in another needed kiss.

Take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don’t need’em
Take your space and take your reasons
But you’ll think of me
And take your cat and leave my sweater
’Cause we have nothing left to weather
In fact I’ll feel a whole lot better
But you’ll think of me

Kyle opened the door of the bedroom and froze, staring at Trista in bed with Carsyn. He didn’t say a word as he walked back down the stairs.

Someday I’m gonna run across your mind
Don’t worry, I’ll be fine
I’m gonna be alright
While you’re sleeping with your pride
Wishing I could hold you tight
I’ll be over you
And on with my life

Kyle sat down on the cold concrete steps leading to the street. He took out his cell phone, turning it on her saw he had a message. He checked missed calls and saw April had called him. He highlighted her name for hitting send, “April, it’s Kyle. Call me back.”

So take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories I don’t need’em
And take your cat and leave my sweater
’Cause we have nothing left to weather

Trista looked up at the open door, “Did we leave the door open?”

“I don’t think so.” Carsyn replied as he watched Trista quickly search for her clothing.

Carsyn followed suit and then followed as Trista ran down the stairs, and saw the front door open and Kyle getting back into his car.

Siobhan’s Apartment

Dan pulled away from Siobhan, “We shouldn’t do this.”

Siobhan nodded in agreement before pulling him back to her and kissing him. “Just tonight, we never have to think about it again.” She defended.

“You’re right, one time.” He said before kissing her back.

Siobhan pulled away and walked over to her bedroom, “Come on rookie.”

Dan followed her, pulling her closer to him and kissing her.

Hallow Hills

Chad looked over at Abby sleeping next to him and crawled out of bed. He pulled on his robe and went to check on the twins.

Both Fallon and Del were fast asleep. Chad pulled their blankets up and as he did he saw someone running across the lawn. Something was familiar about the person running and this made Chad worry.

He opened the front door and saw the envelope with his name on it. He ripped open the paper and saw the familiar, haunting picture of him and Brighton kissing. He felt his stomach knot. He turned it over.

I know you killed Kathryn. Too bad everyone thinks I’m dead. I love you Chad. Brighton.

Chad tore the picture in two and then went into the living room where  a fire was going. He looked at the shreds one last time before throwing them into the fire. He then took the poker and rearranged the logs.

Chad?” Abby asked as she stood in the doorway in a soft guest robe.

Chad turned around and smiled, “Hey, it’s almost midnight.” he went over to the bar in the corner and opened a bottle and poured two glasses.

Abby joined him and took one, “Happy New Year.”

“Happy New Year to you to.” The toasted each other and then kissed again.
