Sean’s
Apartment
Clint
circled around Lysa and Sean as he looked her over. A creepy smile crossed over
his lips. “I’d like to invite the two of you to a party tomorrow night.”
Lysa moved
closer to Sean, something about this man made her feel uneasy. “Oh I don’t know, I’ve got homework to do.”
Sean pulled
Lysa against him tightly and saw the angry look forming in Clint’s eyes, “Don’t
worry Doc. We’ll be there, with bells on.”
“Its not
necessary to be dressed . . .up at all.” He licked his
lips looking at Lysa once more before walking to the door, “Sean, you have done
a fine job my boy.”
After Clint
left, Lysa turned to her uncle and lover, “He is just a little creepy.”
Sean kissed
her forehead, “Don’t worry about it baby doll. He’s one of the few people who
can help us be together.”
Lysa rubbed
her hands on her pants and looked up at her uncle, “Really? Then I guess we can
trust him. So what’s the deal with this party exactly.”
Sean could
feel knots tying together in his stomach, how could he
explain this would be a test for her. Her time to prove to
Doc that she was a wonderful lover, willing to do almost everything. At least everything in the confines of the set upon rules by Doc
himself.
He sat her
down on the couch and sat next to her, “Its just a
chance for you to get to know other people in similar situations and to feel
comfortable with all of us.”
Kyle’s
Office
Kyle sat at
his computer typing when the door opened. He looked up, pulling off his reading
glasses as he looked at the woman he had planned to marry. “What are you doing
here?”
Trista took
a step forward, clutching her purse in her hands. She licked her dry lips as
she looked at the ground before speaking, “I came to talk to you Kyle. To find out the truth.”
“The
truth?” he crumpled up a piece of scrap paper and tossed it in the waste
basket, “Now you want the truth?”
“Or at
least give you my side of things.”
He laughed
as he stood up, his chair pushing back with great velocity, “I came home on New
Years Eve, ready to set up this grand proposal and when I walk into our bed
room you’re having sex with someone else.”
“I thought
you had left!”
He shook
his head, and pinched the bridge of his nose, “My clothes where in the closet
and dresser. My stuff still in the bathroom.”
“But all
the furniture in the living room was gone. That’s all I saw, to me that said
something different then you setting up for some grand romantic gesture.” She
leaned on his desk her eyes meeting up with his, “Kyle I love you, I was hurt.
I do stupid things when I feel that way. I mean I went on a reality television
show to try and get some guy.”
“How can I forget! I made a fool out of myself for you on National
television. I put my career on the line for you. I gave you my heart and what
did you do? The first time it looks like something is going wrong you
hope into bed with someone else.”
She shook
her head, and took a deep breath to keep herself from crying, “Kyle what do you
expect from me? Because right now I was not expecting a proposal, weren’t you
happy living together?”
He sat down
in his chair folding his hands in front of his face, “Trista, I thought you
were the one. I was sure I had found the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my
life with. Right now I think I was wrong. Do you realize how many times I tried
to propose but something always kept me from doing it.”
She blinked
and a tear ran down her cheek, “Fate, you think?”
Kyle
nodded, “Just go Trista, please just go.”
Ethan’s
House
“Ethan?”
Abby called out as she walked into the house.
“Abs!” He
called out and pulled her to him in the hallway. “I’m so glad you’re here. You
wouldn’t believe it. If we want we can be married by the first week in March.”
“Really?”
Abby’s heart raced as the ring he had put on her finger seemed to weigh a ton.
“That’s great Ethan. I guess being the minister has its advantages.”
“Yeah, I
guess so. So what do you say to a March wedding?”
“Its perfect Ethan.” She smiled and tried to figure out how
to break it to him. That his cousin had her heart, her
body—her soul.
He took her
into the living room, “Mrs. Barrington told me she’d help plan the wedding
since she knows how busy your mother gets with Joni Lynn and what not.”
Abby looked
around at the piles of magazines and samples, “Wow, Ethan you might be groomzilla.”
He laughed,
“I just can’t wait to marry you.”
“Ethan.”
“I love you
Abigail, so much.”
Before she
could say anything Ethan kissed her.
PHPD
Siobhan
tossed her paper coffee cup into the waste basket as Becker came into the squad
room. His eyes focused on her and she could feel the look. She looked up and
sent him a death glare.
“Lane, my office please.”
Siobhan
followed him and wondered if she could still plead insanity if she shot him in
the foot repeatedly. “What do you want Chief?”
“Siobhan,
drop the hard ass act. This isn’t about work.” He told
her as he closed the door.
“Then what?”
“Should I
be worried that Dan Adams is moving in on my girlfriend?”
Siobhan
shrugged, “Not sure, I haven’t talked to him about his love life. What about
your wife, Joe?”
Becker
stared at her blankly.
“Exactly,
so go suck an egg and stay out of my life.”
Hallow
Hills—Jeff’s Room
Jeff
finished tying his sneaker when he saw Adel walk past his opened door. “Adel!”
He called out from the door.
She stopped
and turned to look towards him, “Yes Jeff?”
Jeff caught
his breath for a moment as he took her in, simple today. Jeans a sweater,
that’s all she needed to take his breath away, “I need
to talk to you. About something private.”
Adel
nodded, she was sure this had to do with that kiss under the mistletoe. Though
it wasn’t the first time he had kissed her.
Jeff stood
back and let her into his room, closing the door behind her.
“Well,
what’s going on?” Her arms crossed over her chest and her head cocked to the
side.
“Its about the woman your son and my son are fighting over.”
Confusion
was clear all over Adel’s face, “What are you talking about Jeff?”
“Abby and
“The children’s nanny and
“I wish I
wasn’t making this up.” He took her hand in his and looked into her eyes, “On
Christmas Eve, you remember Abby came over to help
“Yeah,
still I’m not getting it.”
“When she
left that night, they kissed.”
“So what.
A peck on the cheek that’s nothing.”
Jeff
sighed, “There was tongue.”
Adel’s eyes
widened. “Oh no, but it must’ve been a mistake I mean she’s engaged to you’re
son.”
“I know.”
He held her hands tighter, “Find out what’s going on. Adel, I don’t want to see
Ethan heart broken.”
“I’ll do
what I can. Not promises though.” Adel pulled her hands away and went to the
door. She hesitated before looking back. “Jeff, you’ve kissed me twice now.
Why?”
“Because, I wanted to. I still want to.” He reached up and touched her face.
“Adel, don’t you know how I feel?”
“Jeff, lets
focus on the kids.”
Jeff
chuckled, “That’s all you’ve ever done. Is put off what’s happening. Ignore it.
I mean my god you’re husband slept with your younger sister and had two kids.
You’re husband slept with that tramp Kathryn Layden and had a daughter.”
“And then
what? Have Doug stand by while I gave him no children because I just never got
pregnant. We tried and tried, there was no reason for me not to be pregnant. It
just never happened. Doug loves his children, and I love them. They are my
children.”
“Adel,
wait.”
She blinked
and when she opened her eyes, she felt Jeff’s lips on hers.
Conner’s
Apartment
Lysa picked
up her calculator and threw it to the other side of the couch. She started
muttering a string of curses before tossing her textbook next to the
calculator.
“Lysistrata,
what’s wrong?” Conner asked as he looked up from his paper work.
“Nothing,
I’m going to go see what Uncle Sean is doing.”
“Honey, I
know its nice having him so close but he does have his own life. I mean how is
he suppose to have a love life if we’re always around.
He deserves to have a love life you know.”
Lysa
laughed, “Oh and me hanging around gives you one. Gosh the last woman you dated
was psychotic.”
“Lysa!”
Conner stood up and shook his head, “you know what, I’m not going to argue with
you. Go see you’re Uncle Sean.”
“Bye Dad.”
Lysa stormed out of the apartment, taking her keys with her on her way to the
door.
Conner sunk
down on the couch and shook his head. He didn’t know what was going on, but he
was starting to think Lysa and Sean needed time away from each other. “Sean’s
young, fun and laid back. I’m her father. Huge difference.” he said to himself
as he opened her math book and then threw it down on the couch.
Abby parked
her car and got out. Her stomach was tied in knots of guilt. Partially
for sleeping with
“Excuse me Ma’am, do you know where I can find
Abby
smiled, “Yeah its three blocks north and then one west.”
“Thank you
very much Miss Adams.”
Abby froze
and looked at him, “How did you know my name?”
“I know a
lot about you Abigail.” he reached up and touched her face, “I know who’s bed you were in last night.”
“What?”
He picked
up a piece of cloth and covered her mouth, “This is what you get for sleeping
with my husband you whore.” Brighton Simpson held her lifeless body as he
dragged her to his car.
PHPD
Siobhan
rolled her eyes at Dan and walked back to her desk, she saw the crisp white
envelop and picked it up. She took out the gray paper inside and looked at the
handwriting. “
Dan took
the paper from her hand and look at it, “This is from the same person who sent
the last one.”
Find the
missing piece, and you are lead to Kathryn’s murderer and the one who caused
Brighton Simpson’s Death.
“Weird,
this one makes no sense.” Siobhan shook her head.
“Yeah the whole Murderer and one who caused death. Those should be the same, at least
we think. Right?”
“Whoever
this is, is a prankster. Besides no ones missing.”
Dan nodded,
“You’re right no one is missing.”
